When using the Lead Generation Lindy, it's as simple as messaging her and specifying exactly what kind of leads you're looking for.

Getting Started

Add the Lead Generation Lindy to your account.

Understanding the Flow Editor

The Message Received trigger allows you to message Lindy through the task view.

Ensuring Lindy Has Supported Search Filters

Once Lindy receives a message, she will continue down whichever path passes the Condition.

The Condition tells Lindy to continue if the user requests lead data supported by our prospecting API, People Data Labs. Otherwise, she will respond to the user to ask them to refine their request accordingly.

Lead filters People Data Labs support are:

Current and previous companies
Job title
Location
Industry
Skills
Company size
Education (schools, degrees, etc)

Using People Data Labs

The next step in the workflow is where Lindy uses People Data Labs to search for leads.

People Data Labs is a Contact Enrichment API used to search for and enrich contact data. It can instantly retrieve detailed lead information, such as names, job titles, locations, and social profiles, or find people using just an email, phone number, or social profile handle. People Data Labs is a Premium Action and consumes 40 credits per lead.

Lindy will use the information provided in the received message to perform a search query via People Data Labs. You can also customize the default SQL WHERE clause to refine your search and find the most relevant people based on your specific needs

This setting effectively prompts Lindy to focus on specific fields when searching for leads, ensuring you get the right data.

Full name
Job Title
Company Name
Location
Personal Email
LinkedIn profiles
Past Companies
School
Phone Number
Industry
Skills

Creating a Lead List

Once Lindy has found the leads, she will move to the next step in the flow which is the Create Spreadsheet action.

Because the Title field is set to “Auto” mode, Lindy will intelligently title the spreadsheet for you, using the context she knows about your lead request.

You can customize how Lindy titles your lead sheets by switching the Title mode to “AI Prompt” and adding instructions on how you prefer your lists to be titled.

Example prompt:

Always title the sheet: DD.MM / {Topic of leads}

Because the Sheets field is set to “Auto” mode, Lindy will intelligently structure the sheet data, using the information she retrieved from the search. Lindy will also title the column headers.

Returning the Leads

After Lindy creates a spreadsheet with your lead data, she will return the leads and the sheet back to you by sending you a message in the Lindy app.

Click the Send Message action (below the Create Spreadsheet action) to see the prompt that instructs Lindy to return a table of leads and the link to the Google Spreadsheet.

Remember, Lindy has context of all actions and output from previous steps in the workflow, meaning if you reference the sheet she created in the step prior, Lindy can link and refer to the sheet when she sends you a message.

Handling Follow-ups

After Lindy sends you the lead list, Lindy will enter an AI Agent step. AI Agents can handle ambiguity, such as follow-up responses, questions and requests the user may have.

Click the AI Agent step to see the Prompt that instructs Lindy on how to handle follow-ups.

The AI Agent skills give the Agent the ability to perform actions.

The skills this AI Agent has are:

People Data Labs Search for People

Test

Go to the Lindy’s task view and send a message to Lindy, requesting leads.

Lindy will query People Data Labs to retrieve the data.

Note: People Data Labs uses 40 credits per search result. You can view credits used under each action in Lindy’s task view.

Click the link in Lindy’s response message to access the lead list on Google Sheets.

Lindy will create column headers and title them based on the data she has on your leads.

Lindy will also send you the leads directly using a markdown table.

Because there is an AI Agent configured to help handle follow-up requests, you can ask Lindy to include more information that she found from the People Data Labs Search.

In the example below, the user followed up and asked for Lindy to add a column for the lawyers past experience.

You can see the AI Agent takes the user's request, adds the new column, and updates the new column with Past Experience as a data point for each lead.
